I loved this walk. I had never been that interested in this walk as I'd always wanted to head up onto the main range or out into the Jugungal wilderness. But recently the Federal Government announced $10 million to fund the establishment of a Jindabyne to Dead Horse Gap walk (and another from the main range, via Charlotte Pass to Crackenback), and I just had to find out what it was all about. I think once the longer walk is up and running, it will be one that every walker wants to do. Perhaps the beginnings of an iconic Australian walking track? I think so...

I recently travelled to Ariah Park in NSW for the Mary Gilmore Festival. Whilst there, I head a short distance out of town and di this great heritage walk. Only a few kilometres in distance, such an informative and enjoyable walk. If you're ever in this part of NSW, make sure you take two or three hours out of you schedule to do this walk. Details now on the website.

I spent yesterday walking in the Neverest Challenge on Mt Ainslie. A great event, but very gruelling. Our small team managed to complete the 53 laps (we actually got to 54 as my walking buddy Mike and I didn't want anyone to have to do the last lap alone). If you're looking for a well organised, fun, but gruelling event, Neverest is for you! Raising money to assist worthwhile projects in Nepal, such as re-building schools after the earthquakes. Photo One: A very fresh looking me at the start. Photo Two: A very un-fresh looking me after 12 laps and Photo Three: The team after completing 54 laps.

Arguably Australia's best walk! Photo's and description now published. If you've done this walk, I'd love to know what you thought of it. If you haven't done this walk yet, put it your to-do list!

The main range loop walk. On the rooftop of Australia, this 22 kilometre provides wonderful panoramic views and an array of high altitude land scape. Possibly the best walk in Australia?

Shakadang Trail in Taroko National Park, Taiwan. One of the many walks in this fabulous part of the world. Part of the Taiwanese Aboriginal Territory, situated on the east coast and home to many native birds. A mountainous region, deep valleys and Taroko gorge river bed littered with marble boulder and emerald green water. Reminded me a little of Bungonia Gorge and the limestone boulders. Article and short documentary coming soon.

I ventured up to Stockyard Spur yesterday (30/9) to see what remained of the snow. After tackling the climb to the top (it gets me every time), I continued for about 3.5 kilometres along the spur line. The snow got deeper and deeper until I was up to just below my knees! It was tough going and despite my aim to get to Pryor's Hut and then Mt Gingera, decided to take the time to sit on a rock outcrop and enjoy the snow and the views over the mountains to the east. This photo was taken as I enjoyed a hot cuppa.

We walked the red track of Bungonia National Park on the weekend. Ran into some others, who we ended up walking the entire track with! Very tough walk, but very beautiful. Thanks Josh, Luke and Sebastian for a great day.
